Philip He
As a half Kangba Tibetan, Philip is the main founder of AlpineBirding and is native of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. He has a deep love for his Kangba Tibetan heritage and the land where he was born and raised. Philip's career has gone from mining technician to a teacher, then a translator, and finally to a guide and tour operator.
Philip found his love for birds and wildlife while working as a logistic guide for a bird tour by a prestigious western bird company in 2003. Out of curiosity at beginning, he started learning birds from western tour leaders. After years of hard work and self-training, Philip has become a bird guide himself and a bird photographer, after trying to take bird photos for identification. The years of experience has trained himself as a professional bird guide with both English and Japanese language background, and a successful bird photographer.
While guiding bird trips, Philip is dedicated with all his passion to help birders find their dreamed birds and help travelers understand the beauty and history of his people and homeland. Besides the rich knowledge of birds, Philip is known for his ability to plan and execute unique and exciting adventure trips exploring the sights off the usual tourist routes. He is active, open-minded, and adventurous and always ready to share interesting and useful information with his clients.
As a professional working in this field for more than 20 years, Philip believes travel is an art and a process of sharing and discovery. Each trip is a unique artistic work created with knowledge and expertise based on the resources available and interests and tastes of travelers. To help more people to gain a lifetime birding and traveling experience, he established AlpineBirding with aim to bring his professional, fun-filled tours to more people who are eager to explore birds and other beautiful attractions in China.
