I.Trip Briefing

Our trip will start in Shanghai and end in Fuzhou with focus on the endemic birds in southeastern China, mainly covering four places, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Jiangxi and Fujian. The trip is planned in a slow pace with visit to many different habitats to maximize our chance to see those star birds and also give you more time to enjoy the beauty of birds. We will first go to Rudong for the shore birds. This place has been the most reliable place for Spoon-billed Sandpiper. After that we will go to Wuyuan of Jiangxi Province to seek for star endemics such as Pied Falconet in the forests and some other interesting birds such as Chinese Hwamei, Tiger Shrike and Swinhoe’s Minivet. Then we drive to Fujian Province. First we spend four nights in two reserves searching for  Cabot’s Tragopan,  Elliot’s Pheasant, White-necklaced Partridge. Then we drive to the Mingjiang Estuary look for Chinese Crested Tern, en route we spend one day to search for birds in Fuzhou Forest Park.

Day 1 (April 25) Arrival at Shanghai and rest, check in in our hotel. Overnight: Shanghai Meals: D

Day 2 (April 26) Morning birding around our hotel and then drive on to Rudong Overnight: Rudong, Meals:BLD

Day 3 (April 27) Whole day birding in Rudong  BLD Overnight: Rudong Meals: BLD

Day 4 (April 28) Morning birding in Rudong and then drive back to Shanghai.  Overnight: Shanghai Meals: BLD

Day 5 (April 29) Morning birding in Shanghai and drive to Wuyuan. Overnight: Wuyuan Meals: BLD

Day 6 (April 30) Whole day birding in Wuyuan. Overnight: Wuyuan Meals: BLD

Day 7 (May 1) Morning birding in Wuyuan and then drive to Taining Reserve. Overnight: Taining Reserve Meals:  BLD

Day 8 (May 2) Whole day birding in Taining Overnight: Taining Reserve Meals:  BLD

Day 9 (May 3)  Morning birding in Taining and then drive to Jiangle.  Overnight: Jiangle Longxishan Reserve Meals: BLD

Day 10 (May 4 ) Whole day birding in Jiangle.  Overnight: Jiangle Longxishan Reserve Meals: BLD

Day 11 (May 5) Morning birding in Jiangle and then drive to Fuzhou Forest Park Overnight: Fuzhou Meals: BLD

Day 12 (May 6) Whole day birding in Fuzhou Forest Park and in the afternoon we drive to Minjiang Estuary. Overnight: hotel near Minjiangkou Meals:BLD

Day 13 (May 7) Whole day birding in Minjiang Estuary and nearby wetlands. Overnight: hotel near Minjiangkou Meals:BLD

Day 14 (May 8) Birding in Minjiang Estuary and nearby Wetlands and drive to Fuzhou. Overnight: Fuzhou Meals: BLD

Day 15 (May 9) Depart from Fuzhou BL

V.  Inclusions and Exclusions

The cost includes the following.

1. Transportation throughout the trip, including airport pickup at Shanghai Pudong Airport and drops at Fuzhou Airport.
2. Meals in local popular restaurants labeled as as BLD in the itinerary.
3. All the entrance tickets for places listed in the itinerary including cable cars and shuttle buses.
4.Hotel stays from first day to the last day, nice 4-star hotels in big cities and local best in local places .
5.Bottled water,seasonal fruits and snacks throughout the trip.
6. Western Breakfast whenever is possible
7. Service charges including an professional English-speaking birding guide.
8. China domestic travel insurance.
9. All tips to the serving staff , guide, driver and hotel bellmen.
The cost does not include the following.

a. Any expense of personal nature such as laundry.
b. Extra charges due to change of itinerary from client side or from factors beyond the control of AlpineBirding.
c. The flight tickets to the place where our trip start and from the place where our trip ends .
d. Expenses for visa application.
