Wenyi is a Chinese ornithologist with professional experience studying and working with birds in the United States, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and China. He earned his Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Florida and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. His research focuses on how information about predation risk spreads through bird communities and influences birds’ foraging behavior and habitat selection. As an avid birder, Wenyi enjoys traveling in China and around the world to observe birds and record their vocalizations. His passion for birding began when he came across a flock of Steller’s Jays in Seattle, Washington, back in 2015. Since 2021, Wenyi has been guiding part-time for AlpineBirding.
